When the Sentinel program has fallen, the humans worked on creating their own mutants to be their next defenders.
Nothing says fighting your enemy with your enemies powers. However, the triplets powers were deem to powerful to control and they flee the establishment and was later recruited by the Stepford Cuckoos, into the hellfire club.
Like how the Stepford Cuckoos are, the brothers are identical and have blonde hair and telepathic skills as they are as well created from the DNA of Emma Frost.
